The APV1161LG is a low-power 24GHz millimeter-wave FMCW radar module for human presence detection. This module's main feature, in addition to traditional human sensing radar functions, is the ability to detect small movements such as human breathing to determine presence. The module operates in low-power mode with a typical average operating current of 80-100uA, making it suitable for battery-powered applications such as smart door locks and human presence sensors. The module uses FMCW modulation and can output the target distance.
For battery-powered low-power applications, Appvision has developed a low-power dedicated fast-start and low power version of its 1-transmitter-1-receiver radar solution together with its partners. The average operating current can be as low as less than 50uA.
